It’s a celebration!

I proudly present my new banner, with the new logo and a couple of other ’tweakings’ to this blog.
Fabulous, patient (the poor guy must have received more than a hundred e-mails from me) Casper Boot designed the logo and gave me great advice with the design of the banner. Such a helpful, kind guy,
an absolute delight to work with!
I’m so happy with the result!

Little kokeshi already put on her partyhat, so I guess it’s time for a little celebration! I give away one Hermione the Rhino with partyhat (like this one or this one or adjusted according to the winners wishes).

Daar is ie dan: mijn nieuwe banner mét mijn nieuwe logo en een paar andere kleine nieuwigheden aan het blog (zoals mijn bijdrage aan de Paaszelfmaakspecial van 101 Woonideeën!). Alle credits voor het logo gaan naar Casper Boot. Wat een prettige samenwerking: enorm hulpvaardig (na het logo kwam het idee voor een nieuwe banner, waar hij ook geweldig bij geholpen heeft), leuke ideeën, geduldig (ook niet onbelangrijk)…naja, kortom: ik ben er superblij mee!

Kokeshi had haar feestmuts al op vanmorgen, dus het is tijd voor een klein feestje.
Ik geef één Hermelien de Neushoorn weg (zoals deze, deze of in de kleuren die de winnaar mooi vindt).

All the luck in the World

Today an extra post with pictures of Jane’s beautiful, beautiful home. Last week Jane and I met up for coffee, it was such a wonderful afternoon and man, it was such a delight to see Jane’s house and work from nearby. Really, the pictures on her blog and Flickr are already so beautiful…in real life it’s all even more delightful to look at. I love the crosses, the mixture of materials and the neon (she used that long before it became as popular as it is now) she uses in her work, it gives her work that distinct ATLITW twist. Her home and work go together like heart and beat (chocolate and coco…Molly and cuddling….etc.) What a great, inspiring afternoon, thanks Jane!

Tomorrow this blog gets it’s new banner and logo…and there will be a nice give-away..stay tuned!

Vandaag een extra post met foto’s van Jane’s prachtige huis. Vorige week spraken we af voor koffie en om eens uitgebreid te praten. Het was ontzettend gezellig en man, wat een feest om haar huis en werk van dichtbij te bekijken. Als je bedenkt hoe mooi de foto’s op haar blog en Flickr al zijn…in het echt is het allemaal nóg mooier. Ik hou van de kruisjes, de neon kleuren (die ze al gebruikte voordat het weer zo populair werd als nu), de mix van materialen die ze steeds toepast, het hoort allemaal bij die onmiskenbare ATLITW stijl. Haar huis en werk lopen naadloos in elkaar over. Super leuk en inspirerend om daar een middag door omringd te zijn!

Morgen krijgt dit blog haar nieuwe banner en logo…en om dat te vieren ga ik weer eens iets weggeven..tot morgen!

Bird-on-a-candlestick

I’m so smitten with this thrifted bird-on-a-candlestick, even the dark brown colour can’t bother me. I gave the bird a little coat with gold dotted Masking Tape, to give a her a contemporary touch. The blue candle wasn’t exactly the colour blue I had in mind for it, but impatient as I am, I settled for this one until I have found the right bright blue. Tomorrow an extra post (just because I love to write posts) about my visit to Jane last week and hopefully I can present my brand new Planet Fur logo that Casper designed for me somewhere this week too! Excitingggg!

Ik ben verliefd op deze tweedehands kandelaar-met-vogel, ondanks dat ie donkerbruin is. Ik gaf de vogel een jasje van goud gestipt Masking Tape, om het hele gevaarte wat meer ‘nu’ te maken. Ik heb een bepaalde kleur blauwe kaars voor erin in gedachten, maar die kon ik zo snel niet vinden en aangezien ik een Ongeduldig Persoon ben, ga ik tot die tijd maar voor deze kleur van de Hema. Morgen een extra bericht over mijn bezoek aan Jane (gewoon omdat ik het erg leuk vind om posts te schrijven) en ik hoop ook deze week nog mijn nieuwe logo te presenteren die Casper voor mij ontworpen heeft. Spannuuund!

Ik kreeg trouwens de Very Inspiring Blogger Award van deze dame (zo aardig!), ik schreef eerder al over mijn onhebbelijkheden, lees ze hier en hier.

Celebrations

This weekend we celebrated my Love’s birthday!
I gave him the Little Kabouter Wesley book as a present (the sticker on it says “Republication with zero new adventures :-D), it’s a book about a hilarious cartoon that was broadcasted in
The Netherlands and Belgium until recently.
The book is so funny, it makes me pee my pants.

So now we can pee our pants together..that is even more hilarious
(if you’re not the one that needs to clean up the mess afterwards).

Dit weekend vierden we mijn Lief’s verjaardag!
Ik gaf hem Het Kleine Kabouter Wesley Boek cadeau (“heruitgave met wel 0 nieuwe avonturen!”),
de filmpjes vond ik zo hilarisch, om je broek van je kont te lachen.
Wij quoten Kabouter Wesley nog dagelijks thuis.


Dus nu kunnen we fijn samen onze broeken van onze konten lachen.
En dat is eigenlijk ook ontzettend grappig.
(Tenzij de buren naar binnen kijken…of de visite net arriveert. :-))

A washi patch

Okay, I lied. I did use my new Masking Tape. Clear glass vases are a bit too boring for my taste, so I embellished this one with some washi crosses. The Hellebore in it is by far my most favourite flower. Those different shades of green…the yellowish stamen…beautiful. Even it’s typical smell and the amount of waste it leaves in the hallway can’t hold back my love. It was even in my wedding bouquet.

Speaking of bright pink crosses (huh?), it’s Jane –All The Luck In The World– Schouten’s trademark and this week I will be visiting her for drinks, chats and to admire her beautiful ATLITW empire. Months ago we discovered that we live very nearby, she must be my most stylish neighbour! So exciting to see her again! 

Direct na mijn vorige post heb ik mijn washi tape aangebroken en ik heb dus eigenlijk gelogen over het feit dat ik ze nooit gebruik (ohoo). Ondanks dit vergrijp, is de vaas er erg van opgeknapt (ik vind gewone glazen vazen een beetje saaai). De Helleborus in de vaas (waar het allemaal mee begon) is mijn favoriete bloem, ze komt in zulke prachtige poederkleuren. Ik had haar zelfs in mijn bruidsboeket (zelfs het vreemde luchtje en de troep die er vanaf komen kunnen mijn enthousiasme niet temperen).

Maar nu we het toch over roze kruisjes hebben (huh?), het is Jane All The Luck In The World’s handelsmerk en het goede nieuws is dat ik deze week bij haar op bezoek ga om haar ATLITW wereld van dichtbij te bewonderen. We ontdekten een tijd geleden dat we vlakbij elkaar wonen, ik denk dat zij met stip op één mijn meest Esthetisch Verantwoordste buurvrouw is. Leuk leuk!
