Chinoiserie
Chinoiserie, wat een prachtig (verzamel)woord voor Chinese voorwerpen. Mijn kringloopradar lijkt extra gevoelig afgesteld op Aziatisch-sferische-voorwerpen en mijn collectie vond eindelijk één verzamelplek in mijn immer-veranderende-werkkamer. Op mijn verlanglijst voor deze collectie staat nog altijd één van de prenten van Tretchikoff, toevallig werd een origineel portret van voornoemde kunstenaar recent verkocht vo0r 1 miljoen pond. Ik denk dat ik het zal moeten doen met de beelden van zijn werk op mijn Chinoiserie Pinterest bord, maar dromen over en zoeken naar de ultieme vondst is naar mijn mening het meest fijne aan schatgraven!

Chinoiserie, what a beautiful collective term for Chinese materials and decoration. My thrift radar is fine-tuned on Asian-esque items and my own thrifted collection of Chinoiserie finally got its own space in my ever-changing work room. One item that would definitely complement this collection is a print of one of Tretchikoff’s ladies (one of his portraits was recently auctioned for one million pounds). It’s highly unlikely that I will find one, so I’ll settle for the images of his work on my Chinoiserie Pinterest board. Eventually, dreaming about and searching for the ultimate find are the most plesant things about treasure hunting to me!

Five years
Vijf jaar geleden trouwden we vandaag. Het was een koude dag, met lichte sneeuw, maar de eerste bloesem bloeide al. Ik trouwde met mijn beste vriend, in de mooiste groene jurk, met mijn favoriete lentegoed in mijn boeket, omringt door hen die het allerbelangrijkst voor ons zijn.
Amen.
Today is our fifth wedding anniversary. That 26th of March was a cold and snowy one, still, the trees were already blossoming. I said yes to my best friend, in the most beautiful green wedding dress, holding a bouquet of my favourite spring flowers, surrounded by the people we love most.
Amen.

In een ander leven zou ik dieren-fotograaf zijn. Of niet, want ik ben niet bepaald een geduldig persoon. Gelukkig wordt Molly altijd onrustig als ik mijn camera op haar richt, dus een fotogenieke actie is nooit ver weg. Ik legde nét op tijd haar gaap en haar snoezige roze tongetje vast. Hebbes!
In another life I would be an animal photographer. Or maybe not, ‘cause I’m not what you would call a patient person. Lucky for me, Molly gets a bit nervous when I point my big black camera at her, so I don’t need to wait long to get some action when picturing her. I was just in time to capture this big yawn, that shows her cute pink tongue. Gotcha!

En..vind je het mooi? Ik wel! Planet Fur heeft eindelijk de jas die het al een tijdje verdient, maar waar ik niet de vaardigheden voor had om het te realiseren. Het voelt alsof ik een nieuwe jurk kocht en mezelf een nieuw kapsel aan liet meten, een frisse wind waar ik blogsprekenderwijs erg aan toe was. Dankjewel Casper, voor al je inspanningen..ik ben er ontzettend blij mee!
Like it? I do! Planet Fur is a grown-up now, with this fancy, designed-by-a-professional look. Funny how a new bloglook almost feels like getting yourself a new dress and haircut. This new design is the change I needed to feel 100% happy again, blog-wisely speaking. Have to thank Casper for all his fabulous work. You rock man!
