Marshmallow friends

Although it seems Summer disguised itself in dark rainy days at the moment, it’s near and so are long happy barbecue evenings with friends. On Flickr I found these super-original marshmallow characters. You certainly would make an entrance with these treats :-) I found them at The Happy Apple’s photostream here. Fifi the Poodle is my absolute favorite!

De zomer heeft zichzelf op het moment goed verstopt onder donkere, regenachtige dagen, maar eens breekt ie door en kunnen er weer lange barbecue avonden met vrienden belegd worden. Op Flickr vond ik deze super-originele marshmallow figuurtjes, wat een giller om deze aan je gasten te presenteren (of om samen te maken). Ik vond ze hier in The Happy Apple’s photostream. Fifi is mijn favoriet!

Literally a corner of our home

Yes, the tail of our orange cat-clock moves. It’s a tiny bit tacky, but she makes me smile and that’s what a good home should make you feel: happy. After cuddling Molly after a hard days work, this corner is the second best sight in my home. What makes you smile when you come home?

Ja, de staart van onze oranje-kattenklok zwiept heen en weer. Het is een klein beetje Fout, maar ze maakt me blij en een goed thuis moet je toch een beetje aan het lachen maken, toch? Na Molly is dit het 2e beste wat ik zie als ik thuiskom. Wat maakt jou blij als je thuiskomt na een lange dag werken?

The sweetest profile ever

She has such a sweet profile. Most of the time her sweet little pink tongue sticks out, because of her (too) short jaw. I always feel a bit sorry for her, because of the absence of a normal snout. But we make that up by loving her to bits. Sweet little lady.

Ze heeft zo’n lief profiel. Meestal steekt haar lieve kleine roze tongetje een klein beetje uit, door haar te korte kaakje. Vaak voel ik een soort medelijden met haar, door het ontbreken van een echte poezensnuit. Gelukkig wordt dat gebrek ruim gecompenseerd door het feit dat we ontzettend veel van haar houden. Lieve kleine poes.

This teapot makes me smile every time I pass it. It’s my first real thrifted Figgjo teapot ever, isn’t it beautiful? It keeps fascinating me how those 60’s and 70’s designs are so very timeless. They are simple and yet bold and endlessly beautiful. What great feeling a small teapot can give!

Deze theepot maakt me blij, elke keer als ik erlangs loop. Het is mijn eerste echte zelf-gevonden-2e-hands kringloop theepot, is ze niet prachtig? Ik blijf me verbazen over de tijdloosheid van de ontwerpen uit de jaren ’60 en ’70. Zo simpel, maar met grote gebaren, eindeloos mooi. Wat een gevoel een kleine theepot je al kan geven!
