Meet Ricardo

This is Ricardo, our new familymember. We was for sale at Mobach, Utrecht with a major discount, just when we were looking for a tiny table next to our couch. “Now why..”, I hear you think, “..should you need a tiny table next to your couch when you already have a coffee table?” Well, that’s a very good question! It’s because we have a cat. And since that cat is really spoiled and doesn’t want a lap that’s wobbly or moving or (worse) moving into a vertical position, it comes in quite handy when you have your coffee/magazine/book/iWhatsoevers/remote within reach of the couch. So, that’s where Ricardo comes in. Of course, Mister Kartell didn’t name his product Ricardo, that’s the name we gave him. We think it’s a good proper name for a black little guy that’s balancing a tabletop on his head all day.

Dit is Ricardo, ons nieuwste familielid. Hij werd met enorme korting verkocht bij Mobach, Utrecht, net toen wij op zoek waren naar een klein tafeltje voor bij de bank. Nu hoor ik je denken: “Waarom zou je een tafeltje bij je bank willen, als je al een salontafel hebt?!” Goeie vraag! Het zit namelijk zo: wij hebben een ontzettend Verwende kat in huis. Die graag op schoot ligt. Maar er zijn, aan dat schootzitten, randvoorwaarden verbonden. Hij mag bijvoorbeeld niet wiebelen. Of nog erger: zich in verticale richting verplaatsen. Dat is nog geen probleem, tenzij je alleen thuis bent en Molly zich nét geïnstalleerd heeft en je koffie/tijdschrift/afstandsbediening/boek/iWatdanook zich op twee meter afstand bevindt. En daar komt Ricardo in het vizier! Natuurlijk kwam Mijnheer Kartell niet zelf op het idee om zijn product Ricardo te noemen, dat deden wij zelf. Het leek ons een stoere naam voor een zwarte kabouter die de hele dag een plankje op zijn hoofd balanceert (wat natuurlijk erg stoer is, ik zou zeker kramp krijgen van zo’n actie).
